The Katelyn Vario replacement disc Ceramic is used to block larger particles from reaching the Pleated Filter cartridge to prevent clogging and increase the life of the filtration system. The Ceramic disc should be replaced when the disc becomes visibly damaged and worn, or when the plastic is showing through the Ceramic surface.
