The Vario Water Filter also reduces chemicals and improves taste and odor thanks to a replaceable activated carbon granulate filter cartridge. The Katadyn Vario features ceramic as a cleanable dirt shield and glass-fiber for microbiological filtration with minimal pump resistance. In " Longer Life" mode, the turbid water is first pre-filtered through the ceramic disk and has an output of approx. 1 liter per minute. When operating in the " Faster Flow" mode, water is directed straight to the glass-fiber membrane, increasing the water flow to up to 2 liters per minute. The Katadyn 8014931 Vario Water Filter also features a dual piston mechanism that provides continuous water flow with minimal effort. This state-of-the-art Vario Water Filter also features a rubber base secure stand and an integrated bottle thread that fits directly on Nalgene bottles (wide mouth).
